SunriseShareholders.org is a project of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Capital Stewardship Program. The Program provides technical support on investment issues, shareholder activism, and fiduciary responsibilities to the trustees and staff of private and public pension funds where SEIU members participate. It provided the research upon which the SEIU Master Trust's letter is based.
The SEIU Master Trust pools the assests of three SEIU sponsored pension funds, including the National Industry Pension Fund, with $1.7 billion in assets. The Master Trust owns more than 8,000 shares of Sunrise stock.
SEIU's 1.8 million members participate in the pension funds of the Master Trust as well as other Taft-Hartley and public pension funds with more than $1 trillion in assets and more than 700,000 shares of Sunrise stock.
SEIU-related funds participate in the Council of Institutional Investors and are active proponents of sound corporate governance as a vital means to protect and enhance shareholder value.
